Nunu and Willump's reworked skin splash arts compared to their old versions... TPA Nunu has a big mistake

One of the other exciting parts to any rework is the redesigned skins and new splash arts. Riot's art team have outdone themselves once again as they breath life into the Nunu & Willump duo.

The teaser trailer ends with Nunu dreaming of what the pair could be, including armoured warriors, zombies and robots - making reference to some of the duo's more popular skins.

Considering Nunu was part of the game's first core group of champions from back in 2009, it's no surprise that some of his skins and splash arts were outdated. We compare the new and old versions of every skin. 

Riot Games have reworked Nunu to update his kit and give the duo some more personality

Classic

Nunu's old splash art showcased the sheer scale of Willump and Nunu's face was meme worthy

The new classic splash art is incredible with a beautiful illustration of the pair's relationship

The new splash art for Nunu's classic skin is absolutely stunning, showing of Willump's magical ability to showcase dreams which is mentioned in the duo's updated lore.

Nunu no longer has a creepy face while Willump is warmer and friendlier, adding to champion's new fun-loving theme.

Workshop Nunu - 520 RP 

One of Nunu's many legacy skins, it doesn't take long to see how outdated this splash is

Riot have changed Willump from a yeti in a Santa costume to a reindeer which fits thematically

Nunu's Christmas-themed legacy skin has received a massive overhaul. The skin used to simply be classic Nunu but with Willump in a Santa costume.

Now Workshop Nunu has turned Willump into an adorable red-nosed reindeer which thematically fits considering the yeti no longer runs on only two legs. A lot of effort has gone into this skin despite it only being 520 RP, it's more than worth the money now.

Demolisher Nunu - 975 RP

With just a helmet, a few spikes and some simple armour, this skin wasn't really interesting

The transformation of the Demolisher skin is fantastic, the pair look epic in this new splash

While Nunu and Willump are now much more comical and friendly characters, that doesn't stop them from turning into absolute badasses in the new version of their Demolisher skin.

The old version didn't have much going for it, especially at the price of 975 RP. Demolisher is more than worth the money now if this skin is your cup of tea.

TPA Nunu - 750 RP

It's worrying that Riot seem to have forgotten Willump has four arms, only Nunu has changed

Nunu's only esports skin, Taipei Assassins jungler Mistake decided to turn Willump into the team's mascot.

Ironically, Riot themselves have made a big mistake as it looks like they've forgotten that Willump now has four arms. They've only updated Nunu, giving him his new hairstyle.

Zombie Nunu - 1350 RP 

Zombie Nunu is the champion's most recent skin, releasing just after Halloween back in 2015

This is another splash art which hasn't changed much but at least Willump has all four arms

This is yet another Splash art which couldn't be changed much because it involves multiple champions. This is Nunu's most recent skin after it released back in 2015, so Riot have decided it didn't need much updating.

The only changes we can see is unlike TPA, Willump has all four arms and now also has antennas on his head to synchronise with Nunu.

Nunu Bot - 1820 RP

Nunu Bot is without a doubt the pair's most popular skin, but it needed a new coat of paint

The skin has changed a lot with orange paint like Mecha Sion but the classic laugh is still there

Nunu Bot is a fan favourite and is without a doubt, the champion's most popular skin. Everyone was delighted when it was revealed that the skin would keep its signature laugh which players have used to troll and annoy others for years.

The skin has been given a new lick of paint, adopting the orange colour which we've seen used for similar skins such as Mecha Sion. One big change though is the fact that Nunu himself is no longer a robot himself in the skin - a decision which has divided opinion.

Sasquatch Nunu - 520 RP 

You can see why this skin was so cheap, Nunu and Willump have swapped colours and that's it

The new sasquatch skin is adorable, how could you be scared of Willump with a face like that

Before the rework, Sasquatch Nunu was probably his worst skin with the only difference to classic being the pair swapping colours.

Now, this skin looks like an absolute steal at only 520 RP as Willump becomes adorable with big eyes and a little goatee. Nunu also has a new hair colour and some snazzy new clothes.

Grungy Nunu - 750 RP

Grungy Nunu used to be a simple reference to Cookie Monster and Oscar from Sesame Street

Now the skin may have a name change with a brand new theme paying tribute to Monsters Inc

This may well be the biggest change on this list, so much so that we wouldn't be surprised if Grungy Nunu was given a new name much like Crimson Akali became Infernal Akali.

The skin used to be a reference to Cookie Monster and Oscar from Sesame Street but living in a bin doesn't suit the new theme for Nunu in Willump. Now, the skin is obviously a reference to Boo and Sully from Pixar's Monsters Inc.
