Steve Bannon gets what Ghislaine wanted: Look at the 'Orange is the New Black' prison ex-Trump adviser will spend his summer locked away in

  • Former Trump strategist reporting to low security Connecticut prison
  • It houses people incarcerated for white collar crimes like money laundering

When former Trump White House advisor Steve Bannon reports to prison on Monday after a legal battle, he will step inside a low security federal lockup with a satellite camp and a bakery.

Although Bannon fought mightily to stay out of prison – bringing an appeal to the Supreme Court – the facility where he will begin his four-month sentence is considered desirable for inmates facing federal lockup.

Ghislaine Maxwell tried to serve her 20-year sentence there when she was convicted of aiding Jeffrey Epstein in trafficking in underage girls.

Sometimes termed 'Club Fed,' the prison was partly the inspiration for the Litchfield Prison depicted in the Netflix series 'Orange is the New Black.'

Bannon was convicted of contempt of Congress for refusing to comply with a subpoena in the House January 6 probe.

Podcaster Ian Bick, who served a stint there for wire fraud, called the facility 'cushy,' corrections1 reported.

'If you’re at a camp, that’s not even really prison,' he said, pointing to the food at the prison commissary and the prison bakery. 'Danbury’s kind of known as a sweet spot because there’s not a lot of inmates there,' he added.

Among those who have spent time there are singer Lauryn Hill, and Leona Helmsley after her conviction for tax fraud.

Bannon was allowed to remain free for two years while fighting his conviction.

Former Trump economic advisor Peter Navarro is serving his own four-month sentence at a Florida prison after being convicted of similar charges.

Bannon also faces charges in New York related to his 'We Build the Wall' scheme, and is charged with fraud. Bannon pleaded not guilty.

Bannon has vowed to keep up his broadcast. 'I'm a political prisoner. And I won't be the last until we rid ourselves of the Biden regime's lawfare,' he told DailyMail.com.
