But that was not the case for Amie-Beth and her 90-year-old grandmother Peggy Hunt, who sat down to watch Bridgerton's six-minute long erotic sex scene together.
The highly-anticipated clip has been deemed the raciest to ever feature on the period drama — no mean feat given the programme has previously aired threesomes.
It stars Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton — who previously warned fans about watching this season with their grandparents.

The grandmother can't believe what she is watching, as she laughs and tries to avert her eyes at some of the more explicit moments.
She takes a liking to shirtless Newton, calling him 'nice looking'. But her overall verdict? 'Bit much'.

In the explicit scene, Penelope was being comforted by Colin after a row with her mother about her engagement, during which time they began kissing.
Colin then undoes her corset and admires her naked figure.
The pair then moved to the chaise longue where Colin's bare bottom was displayed before they touched each other intimately.
They checked in on each other constantly, with Penelope stating: 'tell me what to do', with Colin offering: 'you could touch me.'
After warning his virginal bride that this 'may hurt' the pair then had sex, with Penelope asking at the end 'can we do it again?' to which Colin quipped: 'give me 5 minutes, maybe 10.'

But they both agreed the characters 'were very clearly in love' and praised the acting
The racy scene lasted a total of six minutes, which was the combined length of all the steamy moments in part one.
Speaking in the clip, Peggy says: 'She looks frightened, doesn't she?
Amie-Beth responds with: 'I don't think she knows what to do...I think we're going to see more than just his pants'.
This receives a giggle from the pair.
Later, Peggy says: 'I can't remember nothing like that happening,' which receives a laugh from Amie-Beth.

In it, Amie-Beth gets her grandmother to guess how much she spent on a single drink during a recent holiday, leaving the nonagenarian in absolute shock.
When Amie-Beth finally revealed the actual cost of the drink, Peggy said: 'Well I ain't b******* going there!'
