A Utah bride-to-be was left battered and bruised after being thrown off the back of a truck at 50mph while trying to hold down a mattress she was moving.
Lydia Kessinger sustained a chipped tooth, severe bruising and road rash on her arms during the incident on April 26.
She and her now husband Alex were attempting to transport a king size mattress with Lydia lying on top, when it lifted up as they were driving down State Street in Provo.
Lydia was slammed into the road, but miraculously managed to get up and get out of the path of any oncoming traffic.
'I remember screaming, flying in the air, and rolling on the asphalt,' Lydia wrote in a post on Instagram.

'I remember screaming, flying in the air, and rolling on the asphalt,' Lydia wrote in a post on Instagram
'I remember Alex running after me after he stopped the car. He knelt by me. I remember feeling my teeth with my tongue and thinking something was wrong.
'I looked at Alex and said “Are my teeth OK?” The look on his face was distraught and I just knew that my front teeth were missing.
'I started crying because we were getting married the next day and my teeth were gone.'
However, the bride still managed to make it down the aisle - albeit wrapped up in bandages and with a scraped up face.
'I just knew that I could get a dentist to fix them in time for my wedding, and if not, we were getting married anyway,' Lydia added.
'Alex looked at me with such concern and love. I could feel his fear and anger and self hatred for what happened, but I don’t blame him one bit.'
Lydia was unable to bathe herself so her mom had to come over on the morning of the wedding to help her as others brushed her teeth and wrapped her burns.
'It was such a surreal experience. the whole day and the next day (our wedding) felt like a movie,' Lydia said.

The couple are urging drivers to ensure they properly secure their loads during transport

The Utah Department of Transport has reiterated some guidance for transporting items.
The advice includes placing lighter items below heavier items and use rope or straps to secure the load.
Heavy items should be secured directly to the vehicle, which should not be overloaded.
Motorists are encouraged to add additional protection using tarp or netting and to always double check fastenings.
