Trump calls 'small' Robert De Niro a 'wacko' after actor was heckled by MAGA fans outside hush money trial

Former President Donald Trump clapped back at Robert De Niro after the actor appeared Tuesday outside of the ex-president's hush money trial as a representative for the Biden campaign.

De Niro - who appeared alongside Capitol Police officers Harry Dunn and Michael Fanone - called Trump a 'clown' and got into a shouting match with MAGA supporters outside the Manhattan courthouse.

Trump gave De Niro's performance a review after midnight Wednesday on Truth Social.

'I never knew how small, both mentally and physically, Wacko Former Actor Robert De Niro was,' the ex-president said about the 5-foot-10 star.

The presumptive Republican nominee accused De Niro of suffering 'from an incurable case of TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME' and said the actor was met 'with a force greater than the Radical Left - MAGA.'

'Robert, whose movies, artistry, and brand have gone WAY DOWN IN VALUE since he entered the political arena at the request of Crooked Joe Biden, looked so pathetic and sad out there,' Trump added. 'Where have you gone Joe DiMaggio!!!'

De Niro recently recorded a voiceover for a Biden campaign that was heavily critical of Trump but Tuesday's appearance marked his first bit of in-person campaigning.

'I love this city I don't want to destroy it. Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city but the country and eventually he could destroy the world,' De Niro said.

A group of Trump supporters could be heard in the background chanting, 'f*** Joe Biden,' with one person yelling at the actor, 'your movies suck!'

'We New Yorkers used to tolerate him when he was just another grubby real estate hustler masquerading as a big shot,' De Niro said of Trump. 'A two-bit playboy lying his way into the tabloids. A clown.'

'But this city is pretty accommodating. We make room for clowns,' the actor continued. 'But not a person like Trump, who will eventually run the country, that does not work and we all know that.'

De Niro said that Trump voters 'bought into his bulls***.'

'Trump bought their votes with outrageous lies and empty promises,' the actor said.

De Niro, with Dunn and Fanone hovering behind him, recalled how Trump was able to get a angry mob to assault the capitol on January 6.

He said this is what motivated him to do the voiceover in the new Biden-Harris campaign ad.

'It shows the violence of Trump and reminds us that he'll use violence against anyone who stands in the way of his megalomania and greed,' the actor said. 'But it's a coward's violence,' he added.

'You think Trump ever threw a punch himself or took one?' De Niro mused. 'This guy who ran and hid in the White House bunker when there were protesters outside? No way. He doesn't get blood on his hands. No he doesn't. He directs the mob to do his dirty work for him.'

De Niro pointed to reports that said Trump would use the U.S. military to quell future protests against him.

'That's the tyrant he's telling us he'll be,' the actor warned.

The actor also warned that 'elections' in the U.S. would be over if Trump gets a second term.

'I can tell you right now. He will never leave. He will never leave. You know that. He will never leave,' De Niro said. 'Do we want him running this country and saying I'm not leaving, I'm dictator for life?'

At that moment a car alarm started blaring.

'The only way to preserve our freedoms and hold onto our humanity is to vote for Joe Biden for president,' De Niro encouraged. 'Really. We don't have a choice,' he continued, as the car honked on.

Online people mocked De Niro for wearing a mask outdoors, which he took off before addressing the press.

Trump spokesperson Jason Miller ridiculed the Biden campaign bringing De Niro out telling reporters afterward 'the best they can do is roll out a washed up actor.'

One of Trump's supporters used that same insult on De Niro as he departed.

'You're washed up,' a Trump supporter yelled at the actor.

'You are gangsters,' De Niro said.

'F*** you,' the actor also offered.
