Kamala Harris gets a new label! VP poses with bottle of 'Madam' whiskey with her face on it during farmers market trip... as Democrats 'freak out' about Biden's 2024 chances

Vice President Kamala Harris was presented with a bottle of whiskey with her face on the label, during a Sunday visit to a farmer's market in Washington, D.C.

Harris and her husband Doug Emhoff made a surprise visit to the DuPont Circle Farmer's Market over the Memorial Day holiday weekend as vendors and curious onlookers reacted to her visit.

One man posted a selfie with Harris in the background, where he commented that the vice president reacted favorably to a University of Louisville basketball shirt he was wearing.

'So I'm hungover fighting for my life at the DuPont Circle Farmers Market and Kamala Harris just told me she likes my shirt,' he wrote. 'I really wish I could make this up.'

In the photo, Harris was pictured looking at a bottle of whiskey featuring her portrait, shown to her by a woman who was distributing it. The woman with the bottle later took a picture with the vice president, according to a person familiar with the events.

The whiskey is named 'MADAM,' created in honor of Harris' ascendance to the vice presidency, distilled by Republic Restoratives, a Washington, D.C, distillery.

Democrats might need to crack a bottle of whiskey these days as Politico reported Tuesday new details of 'full blown freakout' from the party regarding low poll numbers for Biden and Harris.

'MADAM' is a limited release whiskey, a blend of a 7 year old bourbon and a 5 year old rye. Although it was first released in 2021, there are still plenty of bottles available for purchase.

'MADAM Vice President. What a difference one word makes. It breaks glass ceilings. It paves the way for a generation of new leaders,' the company description reads. 'It turns 'never-been-done' to 'did.''

The label on the bottle describes the whiskey as a 'tribute' to those who 'blaze new trails and shatter glass ceilings. It's a celebration of those who inspire us to resist and persist.'

A distillery employee told the DailyMail.com on Tuesday that the company was aware that Harris had seen the bottle of whiskey on Sunday, as photos of the vice president with the bottle had made the rounds among employees.

On Tuesday morning, two cases of the bourbon were ordered for shipping, perhaps a sign that more people and liquor stores were interested in the bottle.

Republicans and conservatives in D.C. are also aware of the bottle, even delivering the Harris branded whiskey to their bourbon loving friends as a gag gift.

A public relations representative for the distillery did not respond to a DailyMail.com request for comment. A Harris spokesperson did not respond on the record for comment.

Co-founded by former Rep. Gabby Giffords' Chief of Staff Pia Carusone, the Republic Restoratives distillery leans into their progressive politics, which is not a bad idea for the heavily Democratic-aligned community of Washington, DC.

Carusone said the management team made an intentional decision to be vocal on politics from the beginning.

'On stuff that matters, we're pretty confident in being outspoken,' she told Food and Wine in an article after the 2016 election.

The founders have dipped into the Kamala Harris branding before, releasing an 'I'm Speaking' Rye whiskey to celebrate her participation in the 2020 vice presidential debate.

'Telling white male privilege to STFU is exhausting,' the product description reads. 'Pour yourself a drink or celebrate someone who is taking the mic, no matter how hard the patriarchy is holding on.'

The distillery also sells a specially branded Civic Pride vodka as proceeds from every bottle are donated to a community health organization for LGBTQ communities.

A purchase of their 'Dissent' branded gin sends a donation to the National Network of Abortion Funds a non profit that helps fund abortions for women in restrictive states.

Carusone and cofounder Rachel Gardner presented former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton with a specially branded 'Rodham' Rye Whiskey that was branded as 'a selection of whiskies that are stronger together than apart.'

That earned a special recognition of the bottle on Clinton's social media profile.

'Thanks to Pia & Rachel for all your different forms of activism!' Clinton wrote in June 2017.

A vice president for tea-totaler President Joe Biden, Harris has not made public displays of drinking alcohol part of her routine on the campaign trail.

The vice president has the reputation of enjoying wine (even reportedly drinking it with ice cubes), but it is unclear whether she enjoys whiskey or bourbon.

In March, Harris visited Ratio Beerworks in Denver to help promote administration's agenda after Biden's State of the Union address.

Although she did not drink any of the beer available, Harris left with a six pack of the brewery's King of Carrot Flowers Saison beer.

'It's actually an award-winning beer,' Harris told the Colorado Sun at the time. 'And it is actually made with carrots.'

At last year's Passover seder diner, Harris served an Israeli wine from a West Bank settlement, according to a photo of the dinner shared by her husband Doug Emhoff.

Saturday Night Live delighted portraying Harris as the 'cool aunt' character in the 2020 presidential campaign, as actress Maya Rudolph portrayed her sipping on a frozen alcoholic beverage during a debate.

After Harris dropped out of the race in November 2019, Rudolph (as Harris) delivered an over-the-top spit take after downing martinis and telling Democrats what they could have had if they had only nominated her in the primary.
