Junior Rodeo stars rally for recovery of Spencer Wright's son Levi after toy tractor river accident

Junior rodeo stars gathered this weekend to rally for the recovery of Spencer Wright's three-year-old son, who is fighting for his life after a catastrophic toy tractor river accident.

Levi was found about a mile downstream and was unresponsive when first responders pulled him out of the fast-moving creek near his home on Tuesday. He was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City.

The little cowboy was initially considered brain-dead but miraculously woke up from a coma. His devastated parents, Kallie and Spencer are praying for a miracle.

Many in the community have been organizing fundraisers for Levi. On Saturday, the Junior Roughstock World Finals, Desert Region Rodeo, posted that each of the kids 'rode a little extra strong for Levi Wright.'

Heartbreaking pictures showed the young riders on one knee, bowing their heads with cowboy hats in hand for a moments silence for little Levi.

'Each of the kids wore blue rode for Levi,' the post read. 'They say this is the first rodeo of the entire season that each and everyone of the kids young roughstock riders had a little extra grit and try.'

On the day of the ordeal, Kallie was outside watching her son playing on his tractor trailer, and ran into the house to check on her 9-month-old.

Within that split second Levi had disappeared from sight. The frantic mother dove into the creek to look for her son in the raging river.

Levi's devastated parents were preparing for the worst and said they planned to 'stop care and hold him close until his last breath on earth.'

But, miraculously Levi woke from the coma on Thursday night, two days after he was initially expected not to survive.

'LEVI WOKE UP! I am shook, we don't know much but the doctor said it was okay for me to get excited about that and I AM! My baby is so tough!' she said.

'He got a little wild so we had to settle him down again but my heart!'

On Friday, they received the devastating news that an MRI gave a poor prognosis for the youngster.

At the advice of a new doctor, the parents were told to give their son some time.

'We have time for a miracle!' the family wrote on their Facebook after their son woke up.

'Levi's heart is beating on its own, he has a will to breathe but his sweet little brain was without oxygen too long and there is no coming back from that,' an earlier update read.

Photos on social media show Kallie in her son's hospital bed cradling him in her arms, as his father stands nearby.

On Sunday she wrote: 'This is an experience, I pray deep in my soul you never have to know the way I am beginning to.

'This is a roller coaster that you go on unwillingly & blindfolded, you do not know what's coming next. You just get to wait & ride it out. We are taking it day by day.'

She shared the type of brain injury her son may sustain, and the unknowns that are ahead.

'The term 'Brain Injury' is very broad, there are ranges and different severities. No two brain injuries are alike, even if the accident is similar. No two brains recover or don't recover the same.

'There is a lot Medical Professionals don't know, but what they do tell you is based off legitimate medical literature and history.'

Kallie expressed how grateful she is for the guidance from her doctor, she said 'has provided us the most precious gift of time. Something we almost did not have.'

'Our doctor is nothing short of outstanding and I believe with all of me that her heart is invested into him.

'Whether that is time to see if God provides a miracle to us or whether it's time for us to research, learn and process this all in order to make the most informed decisions.

In the heartbreaking post, she continued to ask for prayers and 'for years to come.' She said, as 'I fear we haven't even reached the hardest part of this.'

'Every decision that Levi's Dad and I will make will be made based on what, we the two people who know him best believe he would want. In all this, he comes first.

'We are exploring the therapies that have been mentioned, engaging with those we feel can be of support for us & getting as many professional eyes on this as possible.'
