Tennis star Boris Becker has been branded 'a devil' who 'thinks the world revolves around him' by his estranged wife following his release from prison.

Dutch model Sharlely Kerssenberg, 46, said Becker had stopped paying child support for their son Amadeus, 13.

Three-time Wimbledon champion Becker was released from jail in the UK and deported to Germany after serving seven and a half months behind bars.

Becker had been sentenced to 30 months in prison for hiding his assets after declaring bankruptcy.

Kerssenberg, who had filed for divorce, criticised her husband for neglecting his family and said he had 'ruined his reputation' with his jail sentence.

She told German newspaper Bild: 'Boris can be charming and loving when he wants to, but also extremely hurtful with words. A devil.

'Prison didn't make Boris a better person. Boris lives in his world in which everything revolves around Boris Becker.'

She added: 'It is not my fault he went to prison. He ruined his reputation all by himself.

'Boris doesn't care whether we're doing well or badly. We used to have an honest love.

'When I started to emancipate myself in marriage, there were arguments. Also because of Boris's lies about his finances.'

Asked whether she said Becker was capable of showing love, she said: 'Boris loves his children and his mother. In the form in which love is possible for him.'

Kerssenberg also said Becker had not called their son for 10 days after he was released from prison until Christmas Day, when he spoke to the 13 year-old on the phone for two minutes.

The model does not even know her estranged husband's current address, making divorce proceedings difficult with no court date set.

Her lawyer said Becker 'does not provide any reliable information about the current state of affairs.'

After his release from jail, Becker gave an interview with German broadcaster Sat1 where he described his ordeal in jail.

He said: 'I thought I was going to lose my life in Wandsworth.

'Someone, a murderer I later found out, wanted my coat and he wanted money and he said he would kill me if he didn't get it.

'Then in Huntercombe another murderer said he wanted to kill me. My food tray was shaking.'

When asked if she still loves the former tennis star in an interview with Piers Morgan on TalkTV in May, Kerssenberg said: 'Of course I do, we all love him. Lillian [Becker's girlfriend] loves him.

'Barbara [his first wife] loves him. Amadeus loves him'.

Becker won his first Wimbledon championship in 1985 aged just 17, becoming the youngest player to do so.

He went on to win two more titles there and earned an estimated £38 million.
