A Crufts winner has appeared in court after her Rough Collies allegedly bit a man walking his own dog on a street in Newcastle.
Daphne Iley is a show judge and breeder and over the years her animals have won a catalogue of prestigious accolades.
A hearing last month was adjourned so she could look over entries at the annual Dog Championship Show in Blackpool.
District Judge Paul Currer told her: ‘This matter will have to be resolved by way of trial.
‘You say your dogs were not dangerously out of control.’
Illey’s website states she has won 18 Challenge Certificates, including two at Crufts, and made up five UK champions.

A trial date of October 3 was agreed.
Iley is a dog show judge and breeder and over the years her animals have won a catalogue of prestigious accolades.
But the 78-year-old has been charged with having dogs dangerously out of control in a public place after five of her pets were accused of being involved in an attack in Fawdon on November 28 last year.
Iley, of Fawdon, Newcastle, pleaded not guilty to the offence at Newcastle Magistrates court.

Wearing a striped blue and white suit and sparkly silver trainers, she spoke only to confirm her name, address, date of birth and plea.
