Archaeologists uncovered rock slabs depicting carvings of pharaohs that ruled during the 18th and 26th dynasties. The slabs also had hieroglyphic inscriptions that had been submerged in the Nile since the 1960s. The artifacts were submerged when the Aswan Dam was built that forced archaeologists to try to save as many artifacts as they could.
