Trump reacts to video of Biden's chair blunder
Former President Donald Trump reacted to a video of President Joe Biden freezing in a half-squatting position during the solemn ceremonies recognizing the 80th anniversary of D-Day. 'He goes over to France and something happened and it's not good, I don't know what it is,' Trump said in a TIkTok interview posted by TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk on Thursday.
During the D-Day memorial ceremonies in Normandy, Biden arrived on the stage, shook hands with French president Emanuel Macron and then awkwardly squatted down, as if to sit. He held his half-squatting position, even as First Lady Jill Biden, Macron and his wife Brigitte reminded standing beside him.
The first lady covered her mouth after she noticed her husband's action, raising speculation that she was trying to surreptitiously correct her husband after he froze in the half-squatting position. Biden paused and briefly raised his position before squatting again until Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was introduced at the podium. After that, he finally sat in his chair with Jill Biden and the Macrons.
When the event concluded, Jill Biden guided Biden off of the stage an after shaking hands with a few D-Day veterans. Biden walked stiffly away, with the first lady gripping his hand tightly. Macron and his wife stayed two additional minutes after the Bidens' exit, meeting and shaking hands with veterans.
Video of the moment went viral as many social media users speculated why the president acted the way that he did. Kirk raised the alarm in a video clip of the moment that he shared on X.

The world is watching Biden, 81, closely for signs of cognitive decline after the Wall Street Journal published a story Tuesday detailing the president struggling behind closed doors to remember specific meetings and policy details. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) criticized Biden's conduct during the ceremony, posting an unflattering photo of the president on social media.
'I took this photo of Joe Biden practically ASLEEP during a ceremony honoring our WWII heroes,' he wrote. 'Joe Biden continues to be an EMBARRASSMENT to our country.' Another video of the president from the ceremony shows Biden turning alone to look at a service member who was playing taps on the bugle, as D-Day veterans stare straight forward, looking at the flag and saluting.
The Macrons, after momentarily looking confused, eventually turn with Biden as First Lady Jill Biden puts her hand on her heart and slowly turns with her husband.
