Melania and Barron spotted for first time since Trump guilty verdict
Melania and Barron Trump were seen leaving Trump Tower in New York in the first public sighting of them since the former president was convicted in his hush money trial. It is believed that the mother and her 18-year-old son remained holed-up in the midtown residence for 12 days after they initially arrived there on May 23, and were not seen leaving until Tuesday.
That was four days after Trump was found guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records on Friday. Stepping out of Trump Tower on Tuesday, Melania, 54, wore a $1,345 beige Max Mara belted jumpsuit with Roger Vivier ballet flats and carried a cognac-colored ostrich Hermés Kelly handbag, which is priced on the resale market between $15,000 and $17,000.
Meanwhile, Barron donned a navy suit and white button down without a tie and an open top button.
The youngest Trump child turned 18 in March and graduated from Oxbridge Academy in West Palm Beach last month – while his father was being tried in his first criminal case with three others ongoing against him.
Moments before the two were pictured leaving Trump Tower, a doorman loaded their Louis Vuitton luggage into their Secret Service motorcade. Barron's initials 'BWT' were included on a suit holder. Trump was found guilty on May 20 of 34 felony charges related to falsification of business records over a hush payment to porn star Stormy Daniels ahead of the 2016 election.
She claims to have had a sexual encounter with Trump a decade earlier which he has denied. At the start of the trial earlier in May, Melania and Barron kept themselves in a 'tight bubble' behind the walls of Mar-a-Lago. The former first lady is able to take walks on the beach and spend time at the spa while behind the ornate gates of their Palm Beach residence.
Those close to Melania told DailyMail.com that her top priority remains her 6ft 7in-tall son, who despite looking like his father is a 'little Melania.' After Barron turned 18 earlier this year, reports emerged that he could be a delegate nominating his father as the GOP presidential nominee at the Republican National Convention this summer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The couple's only son was elected as an at-large delegate to formally nominate his father. But Melania's office said last month that their son would not be a delegate because he had 'prior commitments.'
'While Barron is honored to have been chosen as a delegate by the Florida Republican Party, he regretfully declines to participate due to prior commitments,' the Office of Melania Trump said in a statement provided to DailyMail.com. It's unclear if Barron will even attend the convention this year from Monday, July 15 through Thursday, July 18.
