Queen Maxima and King Willem-Alexander Of The Netherlands look sophisticated as they host annual lunch for people with remarkable achievements

Queen Maxima and her husband King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands looked regal as they enjoyed lunch at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague earlier today.

The Dutch royals hosted their annual Uitblinkerslunch at Noordeinde Palace, honouring people with remarkable achievements in sectors such as science or sports.

The 53-year-old queen looked stylish in a graphic midi dress with a beach print, showing beige clouded skies, shady palm trees and royal blue waves.

Maxima paired the look with and a statement pair of ruby red high heels and a set of gold and jade earrings, which matched some of the shades of her multi-coloured graphic frock. 

She styled her blonde hair in an up-do and stunned with glamorous eye-shadow to show off her hazel brown eyes.

The King wore a smart blue shirt and patterned red tie to mark the annual celebratory lunch.

The lunch held by the royals on Tuesday celebrated the achievements of 28 Dutch people who have distinguished themselves with a special achievement.

Each of the 28 have recently received a prize or other distinction for their achievements in various sectors such as art and culture, media, science, sports and business. 

Some of those included Mohamed Benchellal, who recently won the Culture Fund Fashion Stipend award, and Jeroen Koopman, who was awarded an International Emmy Award for the Netflix series Heartbreak High .

On Monday, the Dutch royal, and her husband King Willem-Alexander hosted a reception and lunch for Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and his wife Sheikha Jawaher bint Hamad Al Thani at Noordeinde Castle. 

The official visit was intended to strengthen the relationship between the Netherlands and Qatar.

For the lunch, Queen Maxima looked as regal as ever in a blue silk blouse which she paired with a blue satin floor length skirt from the Belgian brand Natan.

Despite the sunny weather, Maxima wore long sleeves, perhaps to reflect the formal nature of the visit.

The Dutch royal, who usually opts for a chignon style up-do, wore her hair down for the occasion, adding an subtle hat.

It is a look the mother-of-two has worn previously at a Christmas Music Gala in Bussum in 2023.

In Qatar the monarch and head of state is the most powerful position in the country and is responsible for developing foreign relations.

During their visit, the royal couple will hold meetings with Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte and the presidents of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
