Retro chocolate bar is set to returns to shelves delighting fans

A popular discontinued chocolate has returned to a superstore at a bargain price, causing fans to go into a frenzy and stock up on the sweet treat.

Chocolate giants like Cadbury and Nestle are no strangers to axing products off the shelves, much to the dismay of their loyal fans.

And many may remember when it was announced two years ago by Mars Wrigley UK, headquartered in Slough, that its MilkyWay Crispy Rolls were no longer going to be stocked on shelves.

The chocolate bar is made up of crunchy biscuits coated in Mars' signature Milky Way cream and covered in milk chocolate.

In a statement to the Sun, the corporation said at the time:  'While Milky Way Crispy Rolls are currently in a galaxy far, far away we're pleased to offer many delicious alternatives such as Milky Way Magic Stars, Maltesers, Mars and of course, the traditional Milky Way.

'The love for Milky Way Crispy Rolls has been out of this world and we've certainly taken note.'

The product was first released in 1994 in Germany and is thought to have come to the UK two years later, in 1996.

Fans have rejoiced after finding out that a bargain store has bought stock of the beloved Crispy Rolls - two years after it was discontinued.

Home Bargains, which has more than 500 stores across the UK, is now offering customers the chance to buy their favourite chocolate bar again.

The shop is selling the chocolate treats for just 99p for a box of six packets, which contain two rolls each.

Its recommended retail price is usually £1.99, meaning fans can relive the nostalgia for £1 less than usual.

And shoppers have been quick to spread the news of Milky Way chocolate's return, taking to social media accounts to share pictures of the sweet treat.
