Queen Letizia looked elegant as she welcomed Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky to the Palace in Madrid today, alongside her husband King Felipe.

The royal, 51, put her best fashion foot forward and donned a two-piece pinstripe navy suit, with an oversized blazer and wide legged trousers.

She paired the ensemble with a dark blue frilly lace blouse and black flat pumps that looked both stylish and practical.

The former journalist kept things simple when it came to her jewellery, sporting a pair of silver statement drop-earrings with pearls on the bottom.

Letizia wore her shiny signature brunette locks down in a straight, sleek blow dry and opted for glamorous makeup, featuring sparkly eyelids and pink lip gloss.

President Zelensky opted for a more casual look, pairing a khaki t-shirt - which had Ukraine's flag on the sleeve - with some brown cargo trousers and a pair of trainers.

King Felipe looked dapper in a black suit which he paired with a crisp white shirt, polished shoes and a blue patterned tie.

Today, Spain pledged one billion euros in military aid to Ukraine as Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and  President Zelensky signed a security deal in Madrid.

The deal 'includes a commitment for one billion euros in military aid for 2024,' Sanchez told a joint news conference.

Zelensky's visit comes as Ukraine has been battling a Russian ground offensive in the Kharkiv region, which began on May 10, in Moscow's biggest territorial advance in 18 months.

Sanchez said Spain had already pledged to supply Patriot missiles, but what Zelensky needed from Ukraine's allies was for 'the systems to launch these missiles'.

Spain would also send 'another batch of Leopard tanks and above all ammunition,' Sanchez said, pledging to keep working with Kyiv 'to understand how else - and with what other alternative systems - we can help ensure Ukraine's air security.'

Last month, Spain pledged to send an unspecified number of Patriot air defence missile systems to Ukraine; it previously sent 10 Leopard tanks. Until now, Madrid has only provided limited military aid to Kyiv.

It comes as rumours continue to swirl around the state of Queen Letizia and King Felipe's marriage.

These follow her brother-in-law making shocking claims that he had once been romantically linked to her - comments that the royals have not commented on.

Jaime Del Burgo, 53, who is based in the UK, has shockingly alleged that he and the Spanish King's wife had an affair after the former journalist's 2004 nuptials to Felipe VI.

The 'affair' rumours first rocked the Spanish monarchy in November after Del Burgo contributed to a tell-all book about the Queen of Spain, titled Letizia y Yo (Letizia and I) by journalist Jaime Peñafiel.

Neither Spain's Royal Family nor Letizia - who recently celebrated her 20th wedding anniversary - have made any comment about the claims repeatedly aired by Jaime del Burgo or Jaime Penafiel.

Referring to the scandal last year, a spokesperson for the Spanish Royal Family told FEMAIL: 'We have no comment to make about this.'

Earlier this month, Del Burgo took to X to claim that he had abandoned plans to publish his own tell-all book and instead would be producing an eight-part documentary, titled 'Nothing but the Truth'.
