Richard Mintzer OBITUARY

Richard ” Dick” Mintzer passed away in Boulder, Colorado on June 23, 2024 at the age of 91. Dick is survived by his wife Linda; son Peter and his wife Julie; daughter Michelle (Murphy); son Matt (Rich) and his wife Julie; and son Tom (Rich) and his wife Rebecca, as well his loving grandchildren: Abby, Joseph, Jack, Rachel, Sammy, Lily, Andrew and Grayson. Dick is preceded in death by his parents Rose and Martin Mintzer and his sister Lorraine (Gordon). Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he raised his family in Rockville Centre, NY where he ran an insurance brokerage firm founded by his father. After a successful career, Dick retired at 56. He and Linda moved to Boulder, Colorado where they spent much of their time enjoying the beauty of Colorado and bicycling around the state. He and Linda took a great adventure and biked across the country. When he wasn’ t biking, Dick worked as the Director of Insurance Education at the Community College of Aurora and then had a second career as an insurance expert witness and consultant. Dick was a warm and loving man whose home and heart were always open. He loved to opine on matters of life and love. His children and their friends often turned to him for advice as they navigated life’ s challenges. Dick doted on his grandkids and he loved sharing good meals with good friends. Dick loved Linda most of all and he would have lived forever by her side if he had his choice. His presence in this world will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace Pop-Pop.
