David Antony Cartwright OBITUARY

David Antony Cartwright passed from this life to be with his beloved Lord on June 19, 2024, freeing him from the cancer which had hindered much of his life the last few years. David was born in South London, England, on November 9, 1947. He is survived by Mary, his wife of 37 years; stepdaughter Ruth Seleske (Jeff); stepson Joel Dibble (Julie); four cherished grandsons, John Dibble (Jessica); Daniel Dibble (Lacey), Nathan Seleske, Matthew Seleske and five sweet great-grandchildren, Everly, Benjamin, Wesley, Hazel and Willow. Besides his family David loved anything regarding steam trains, English or American and enjoyed seeing Colorado as a passenger on the several heritage lines which operate in this state. He volunteered at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden for several years and was active on the Superior Historical Commission. David also loved serving at St Ambrose Church in various quiet ways. As a young man David worked in amenity horticulture at the country garden of Kew Gardens in England. Prior to the move to the United States he worked in the field of technology as a manufacturing quality inspector. A service of celebration of David’s life will be held at St Ambrose Church, 7520 S. Boulder Rd, Boulder, on June 12 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St Ambrose Church or TRU Community Care.
