Boulder police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash which left a man seriously injured on Tuesday.

According to the Boulder Police Department’s post on X, just before 7 a.m. Tuesday a community member called officers when he found an injured man in his front yard.

Emergency personnel took the man to the hospital with serious injuries and when he regained consciousness, he told police that he had been hit by someone driving a car that left the scene, according to the post.

The victim is a 40-year-old man who was visiting Boulder from out of town. The man told police that he was walking back to his hotel at 2701 Canyon Blvd. between 2 and 2:30 a.m. when he was struck crossing 17th Street at a stop light.

According to the post, he described the vehicle that hit him as a white Honda or Toyota sedan that possibly turned left on 17th Street. The man then laid down to rest in a yard in the 1800 block of Canyon Boulevard and woke up to paramedics who were helping him.

The victim is described as a black man, around 5’8”, weighs 135 pounds and is bald with a mustache, according to the post. Anyone who has any information about this incident, saw this car or the victim is asked to contact Crash Investigations Specialist Hanel at HanelJ@bouldercolorado.gov or 720-648-2408.
