The new Primos Park will be built by Violet Avenue. 
A 9-acre site along Violet Avenue between Broadway and 19th Street has a new name — “Primos Park.”
The name reflects neighbors’ hopes of gathering with friends and family in the future park, which is expected to be finished in 2026. The combination of the Spanish word “primos,” meaning “cousins,” and the English word “park” resonated with community members’ multilingual experiences. The park plan includes an amphitheater and an outdoor pavilion.
Park neighbors invite community members to a ceremony to celebrate the new name at 1:30 p.m. July 27 on the east side of the park near the end of Appletree Court.
