A person suffered serious injuries and is in critical condition after a stabbing in downtown Boulder Wednesday morning

At 8:59 a.m., officers were called to the area of Broadway and Arapahoe after individuals saw a man using a knife and a pipe to attack another man under the bridge.

Within five minutes, police spotted the suspect riding a bike nearby, pursued him and safely took him into custody just off the Boulder Creek path on 17th Street.

He was uninjured, according to the release.

The suspect has been identified as Joshua Allen Gregor, 38.

Gregor faces two counts of first-degree assault.

Detectives do not believe the men knew each other.
