Boulder-area events for Monday, June 24: Celebrate the environment at Meadow Music with Jeff & Paige

Meadow Music with Jeff & Paige: 5:30 p.m. Monday, Chautauqua Park, 900 Baseline Road, Boulder. This environmental education program turns 20 this year, and to celebrate, Jeff & Paige will host a one-hour concert filled with science- and nature-based kids’ music, educational skits, costume changes and audience participation. Before the fun, join a crew for a short, toddler-friendly, pre-concert hike where we’ll find our animal and color of the week. Bring picnic blankets, picnics and water. Birdies & Bogeys 2024 — Charity Golf Tournament: 8:30 a.m. Monday, Lake Valley Golf Club, 4400 Lake Valley Drive, Niwot. Breakfast, lunch and select beverages provided. Women of the West and Beyond Discussion Group: Noon Monday, Boulder Public Library, 1001 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder. The group reads books originally written by or about women west of the Mississippi. Hawaiian Hula Classes: 6:30 p.m. Monday, Spark Theater, 4747 E. Pearl St., Boulder. This Hawaiian hula class, a dance that dates back to the 1100s, is taught by a teacher who learned the dance while living on the islands. $20-$75, 720-771-9772.

Concert in the Park with Boulder Concert Band: 7 p.m. Monday, North Boulder Park, Ninth Street and Dellwood Avenue, Boulder. It’s a summertime experience you won’t want to miss. Join your neighbors for your community band concert at one of your favorite Boulder parks. Bring a picnic, chair or blanket, and relax to the sounds of summer music. Free, boulderband.org.

Astronomy Tour: 9 p.m. Monday, Boulder Valley Ranch Trailhead, 3900 Longhorn Road, Boulder. A professional astronomer will guide you through the cosmos with several large telescopes and a laser pointer. We will explore the wonders of our universe including planets, constellations, star navigation, satellites, nebula, clusters, galaxies and even shooting stars (if lucky). The tour takes place at an easy-to-find trailhead, and there’s no hiking required. You’ll have the chance to see phenomenal sunsets and wildlife in the area. What began as a dorm room project, has turned into a touring band that draws its influences from reggae, country, funk and rock ‘n’ roll.
