The Coffis Brothers will perform its brand of roots rock at Broomfield’s next free summer concert.

Every few weeks, the city’s free Summer Concerts Series showcases a different band. The concerts take place outdoors and folks are invited to join the celebration that will have food trucks, dancing and music.

“We started in 2010, my brother and myself in the Santa Cruz mountains,” guitarist and vocalist Kellen Coffis said. “The last eight or so years we’ve been traveling a lot more, and put out a record every other year just about.”

Coffis and his band mates, Jamie Coffis on keyboards and vocals, Cory Graves on drums, Aidan Collins on bass and Kyle Poppen on lead guitar, focus on rock and roll music, much of which is inspired by familiar names.

“We’ve always been interested in early rock and roll, going back as far as the Everly Brothers and Elvis and Buddy Holly,” Coffis said. “Now there’s been some more contemporary artists that we draw inspiration from. But we don’t really hide too much from our influences, I think when you hear us, you’ll feel it often sounds familiar.”

The Coffis Brothers’ familiar sound will be showcased at the concert on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Redpoint Ridge Park at Arista, 11335 Central Court.
