Memorial Day is again for runners in Boulder, as the Bolder Boulder 10K returns for the first time since 2019.

The route for the 42nd running of the race will begin at the intersection of 29th and Walnut streets and finish at the University of Colorado’s Folsom Field. A number of roads along the route will be closed to make way for runners, but all streets will be reopened by 1 p.m.

At 3 a.m., the first closure will take place, shutting down 30th Street between Pearl and Arapahoe avenues.

The remaining lane closures will begin at 6 a.m prior to the first wave of runners starting at 6:55 a.m. The closures along the race route include:

  • 30th Street stretching from its initial closure at Arapahoe Avenue to Valmont Road,
  • Valmont Road between 28th and 30th streets,
  • 28th Street from Valmont Road to Pine Street,
  • Pine Street between 25th and 28th streets,
  • Folsom Street between Hawthorn Avenue and Pine Street,
  • Hawthorne Avenue from Folsom Street to 23rd Street,
  • 23rd Street between Hawthorn Avenue and Glenwood Drive,
  • Glenwood Drive between 23rd and 20th streets,
  • Vista Drive from Glenwood Drive to Iris Avenue,
  • 19th Street between Iris Avenue and Edgewood Drive,
  • Balsam Avenue from 19th Street to 17th Street,
  • 17th Street between Balsam and Cedar avenues,
  • Cedar Avenue from 17th Street to 13th Street,
  • 13th Street from Cedar Avenue to Spruce Street,
  • Spruce Street between 13th and 15th streets,
  • 15th Street on the block between Spruce and Pearl streets,
  • Pearl Street between 15th and 20th streets,
  • 20th Street between Pearl and Walnut streets,
  • Walnut Street between 20th Street and Folsom Street, and
  • Folsom Street from Walnut Street to CU’s Folsom Field.

Beyond the race route, there will be closures on Pearl Street from 29th Street to just West of Foothills Parkway, on Walnut Street between 29th and 33rd streets, and on 29th Street between Walnut and Marine streets.

Parking will be available in free lots at 18th and Spruce streets and at 29th Street and Canyon Boulevard, as well as at paid lots at Boulder High School and across the University of Colorado campus. Runner drop-off will be on 28th Street between Colorado Avenue and Marine Street and on Arapahoe Avenue between 29th and 38th streets.
