Q
Since this blocks the total outlet can you plug a power strip into it without disrupting or ruining the signal from the net gear?

Yes.

Haven't tried a whole power strip, but single plugs into it haven't been an issue. Love these things!!

A
You should be able to plug just about anything into it including a power strip. Do not plug the Netgear into a power strip as, depending on the power strip, it may block the signal all together or rob you of needed bandwidth. I would not plug a motor or florescent lighting into it as it may cause interference and again rob you of bandwidth. There is already a lot of interference in any household wiring, which this does a good job of filtering out. Hope this answers your question.

You cannot use a surge protector, but you could use a short extension cord. That's what I have used, as it just extends the terminals without affecting the signal.

Q
Can I get WiFi on my phone?

A
These devices provide WIRED ethernet connections using your household wiring. WIRELESS [WiFi] for your phone is a completely unreleated question

A
This product does not do WiFi. It is for wired network over you power lines.
kevin  Apr 01, 2021
A
Yep!
danny  Apr 01, 2021

This serves as an ethernet access point. You can connect a device that accepts an ethernet cable to have it connect to your network.

Q
Does it block the second plug in the wall outlet?

A
Yes. No sweat, however. I connect my surge suppressor to the device's pass-through outlet.
john  Feb 10, 2021
A
No.

A
Unfortunately yes.
j. gregory  Feb 09, 2021
A
It really depends on the size of the plug. Small Zip cord style plugs are no problem but larger ones are a bit tight. Some will not work at all.
kevin  Feb 09, 2021
A
Yes, in most cases it does. It tends to predominantly block the ground inlet of the plug.
raul  Feb 09, 2021
A
For my outlets, yes. But I have a power strip plugged into the Netgear. I have 4 of the netgear, 3 of which are connected to a strip. They all work great.
