Virginia was born on Feb, 21 of 1933 in Brooklyn NY. The daughter of Anna Max and Michael Kearns. She grew up on Troy Avenue in Brooklyn NY. & was a graduate of Midwood High School. In her early 20’s she worked in Manhattan. She was working in the Empire State Building during the blackout of 1959 and had to walk down the stairs in the dark to get out of the building.

She lived and worked in New York raising her 2 daughters, Jackie and Peggy, until she married John Shea in 1968 and moved to Abington MA. They lived there for several years before moving to Canton, CT in 1973 where they resided for the rest of their lives.

After marrying John, Ginny was happy to stay at home with her children for many years. Later she worked at various local companies doing clerical work and bookkeeping. She started her own business as a printer in the 80’s and continued to run Apple Valley Printery in Southington until she sold it in 2000. She worked as a bookkeeper at Global Resources in Simsbury for many years and continued until about 6 months ago. She was always a diligent and hard worker with many talents in the office. She had amazing handwriting, was able to type over 100 words a minute without a spell check, sharp with numbers, and got things done in a timely fashion. She worked; ran a company and a household all at the same time.

She enjoyed playing cards, watching the Red Sox and the Bruins with her husband, John. She enjoyed traveling, meeting people, and most of all surrounding herself with friends and family. She was kind, loving and caring to everyone she met. She seemed to know everyone in town, and everyone knew and loved her.
