Robert T. Danaher OBITUARY

Robert T. Danaher, known affectionately as Bob, passed away on July 3, 2024, in his home in West Hartford, CT, at the age of 73. Born on November 18, 1950, in Hartford, he was the cherished son of the late Rosemary and Robert J. Danaher. Bob grew up in North Granby and Hartford and was a proud graduate of the Robinson School, later earning an undergraduate degree from the University of Hartford (Class of 1972) and a Master of Computer Information Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (1985). Bob worked for the State of Connecticut for a time before moving to Fleet Bank, which eventually merged with Bank of America. He spent the rest of his career at Bank of America, working as an IT Architect, before retiring in 2020. Bob was an avid supporter of the arts, especially the Hartford Symphony Orchestra and the Hartt School. He loved traveling up to Tanglewood to see the Boston Symphony Orchestra during their summer season, and Jacob’s Pillow in the Berkshires to attend the summer dance festivals. Bob was also a big fan of Bob Dylan, The Beach Boys, and Richard Thompson.

Known for his gentle, kind, and compassionate nature, Bob touched the lives of many. He is survived by his loving daughter, Nicole Danaher-Garcia; son-in-law, Matthew Curtis; and step-daughter, Sabrina Parra-Garcia. Services will be held at Molloy Funeral Home 906 Farmington Ave. West Hartford, CT, on July 12, 2024, at 11 a.m. friends and family may call from 9:45 – 10:45 prior to service. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, West Hartford. Bob’s amiable spirit and genial nature will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
