Patricia M. Binetti-Cox OBITUARY

Patricia M. Binetti-Cox, 76, of South Windsor, beloved wife of William A. “Bill” Cox, died peacefully on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at home, surrounded by her family. Patti was born in New York, NY, on January 4, 1948, daughter of the late Joseph and Rachel (Busso) Binetti. She grew up in Springfield Gardens, Long Island, NY, where she went to PS52 and was a graduate of Newtown High School. Patti met and married Bill on March 8, 2008, and they made their home together in South Windsor. Patti was a wonderful cook and enjoyed hosting family gatherings and holiday dinners. Nobody left her home hungry as she had “the need to feed” everyone. She enjoyed decorating inside and out for every holiday. Family was most important to her, and she cherished the time she had with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Patti loved to dance and was the life of the party. She enjoyed bowling on several leagues at Spare Time in Vernon. A kind, caring, nurturing, and loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many, she will be dearly missed. Along with her husband of over 16 years, Bill, she leaves her children, Joseph Schweigert of Bayside, NY, Kathleen M. Santana and her husband John of New York, NY, and Rachel Kastelan and her fiancé Christopher Helt of Chandler, AZ; her siblings, Josephine Binetti of Merrick, NY, Julius Binetti and his wife Angela of Jupiter, FL, Frances Galligan and her husband Michael of Cary, NC, and Maria Navarro and her husband Vincent of Miller Place, NY; her sister-in-law, Patricia Binetti of Coral Springs, FL; her grandchildren, Kristina Staples and her husband Gerard of Highland Mills, NY, Samantha Iori of Richmond Hill, NY, Thomas Kastelan and his fiancé Michelle Nunez of Phoenix, AZ, Zachary Kastelan of Chandler, AZ, and Brandon Tocco of New York, NY; her great grandchildren, Gia Rizzuto of Richmond Hill, NY, and Aiden Staples of Highland Mills, NY; and her uncle, Carlo Busso and his wife Lisa of Kings Park, NY. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Binetti, and her granddaughter, Victoria Foote. Her family will receive friends on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 4-7pm at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, 10 a.m., meeting directly at the First Congregational Church of South Windsor, 993 Main St., South Windsor. Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery in Manchester. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association and /or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
