Marlene Dorothy Petersen OBITUARY

Marlene Dorothy Petersen, 88, of West Simsbury, beloved wife of Frederick Petersen, died Monday, June 24, 2024 at her home with family at her side. She was born May 5, 1936 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late William and Dorothy (Laurie) Neville, and had lived in Andover, MA before moving to West Simsbury over 54 years ago. Marlene graduated from the University of Connecticut, Class of 1958, having received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. Mrs. Petersen was a Bank Teller for Peoples Bank for over 20 years before her retirement. Prior to that, she operated Printer’s Inc., the family printing business, with her husband. Mrs. Petersen loved spending time volunteering at the Simsbury Senior Center, gardening, line dancing, and playing board games with her family.

In addition to her loving husband of 59 plus years, she is survived by her children, Kenneth Petersen and wife Suzanne of Avon, Deborah Petersen of Melrose, MA, and Paul Petersen and wife Kim of Apex, NC; her brother, William Neville and wife Nancy of Naples, FL; her grandchildren, Shannon Burgoyne and husband Nate of Derry, NH, Connor Petersen and wife Sarah of Vernon, Cara Petersen of Farmington, Ben Petersen of Apex, NC and Camden Petersen of Apex, NC; her great-grandchild, Brooks Burgoyne of Derry, NH and several nieces and nephews.

Her family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 3rd during visitation from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike in Canton. A celebration of her life will be held at Vincent Funeral Home following visitation at 7:00 PM.
