Marion Livingston Henderson OBITUARY

Marion Livingston Henderson, 95, of Hartford, beloved wife for 42 years of the late Dr. Lawrence J. Henderson, DPM, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, surrounded by her family at Hartford Hospital. Born in Springfield, MA on March 26, 1929, daughter of the late John B. and Glendolyn (Warren) Hall, she was raised in Springfield, MA and was a graduate of Technical High School. After high school, Marion took a position as an international bank teller at Hartford National Bank in Hartford, now part of Bank of America. She worked there for over 20 years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Hartford where she served on many groups and committees over the years. In 1982, Marion and her husband were instrumental in starting the Loaves and Fishes Soup Kitchen at Trinity Episcopal Church. She leaves four children, Karen A. Henderson-Russ and her husband Phillip of New London, John L. Henderson and his wife Angela of Bowie, MD, Glenda T. Henderson-Woods and her husband LaVon of Windsor, and Marcie L. Henderson-Wilson and her husband Seaon of Windsor; two sisters, Gladys Faniel and Marjorie Guess both of Springfield, MA; a brother, Edrick Hall and his wife Sonja of Hartford; seven grandchildren, Serena L. Wilson of Windsor, Samantha C. Daley-Harewood and her husband Jonathan of Windsor, India L. Weaver and her husband Jervis of Windsor, Aisha Williams and her husband Andre of Glen Arden, MD, Jonell Hendricks and her husband Christian of Owings Mills, MD, Jelani Bonds and her husband Matthew of Bowie, MD, and Savannah M. Woods of Windsor; seven great-grandchildren, Riley Hendricks, Christian Hendricks, Jr., Peyton Harewood, Logan Harewood, Lincoln Weaver, Jackson Weaver, and Carter Weaver; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her loving husband, she was predeceased by 11 brothers, Bertram Hall, Charles Hall, Wilfred Hall, Hubert Hall, Wendell Hall, John Hall, Irving Hall, Lawrence Hall, A. Christopher Hall, Theodore Hall, Sydney Hall; and four sisters, Alma Woods, Doreen Gray, Jeanne Perry, and Ethyl Howard. Her family will receive friends on Thursday, July 11, 4-7 p.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. A Homegoing Service will be held on Friday, July 12, 2 p.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 15, 11 a.m., at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
