James A. Moser OBITUARY

James Alden Moser, 84, of Ellington, loving husband of 65 years to Jane (Dombek) Moser passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 6, 2024, with the family at his side. Jim was born on August 12,1939, in Rockville, one of five children of the late Rudolph and Emma (Gottier) Moser.

Jim worked with his father on the Moser Dairy Farm in Ellington. He and his brothers later purchased Valley Farms and Melrose Farm. He loved the outdoors, farming and raising his family. Jim and Jane enjoyed spending time with their children and grandchildren and traveling, especially to Ogunquit, Maine. He also loved gardening, repairing the farm equipment and his vintage tractors.

He was a longtime dedicated member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Ellington. Jim’s quiet demeanor and gentle spirit will be greatly missed. In addition to his loving wife Jane, Jim leaves his 6 children and their spouses. Lynn and Arlo Hoffman, Chris and Sue Moser, Dana and Tim Schneider, Eric Moser, Ronnie and Kelly Moser, and Suzanne and Jeff Schillinger. He also leaves twenty loved and cherished grandchildren: Kelly (Bethany), Jennifer (Phil), Carole (Josh), Heidi (Parker), Jesse (Jane), Frank (Melissa), Samuel (Leah), Lydia (Nate), Jacob (Josie), Christian (Alyssa), Jonathan, Nathan, Kristy (Lou), Blane, Michael (Tiffany), Luke, Nicholas, Jared (Lindsey), Julia, Emma; and twenty great-grandchildren Kate, Devon, Jaiden, Joelle, Morgan, Kohen, Trent, Everett, Charlotte, Weston, Jack, Hazel, Ariana, Tessa, Camille, Leonard, Houston, Coco, Dale, and Charles; his brothers Ben Moser and Roger (Joni) Moser; his brother in-laws, Jack (Vicki) Dombek, Stan (Bonnie) Dombek, Jim Norwood, and Bob (Lorraine) Dombek and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Jim’s loving and dedicated caregiver, Caroline Akogyiram. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Florine and Manny Luginbuhl, brother and sister-in-law Eddie and Irene Moser, and sister-in- laws Glenna Moser and Willa Norwood and brother-in-law Paul Dombek; a nephew, Randy Dombek.

All are welcome to join his family for visitation at the Longview Fellowship Center, 34 Middle Butcher Road in Ellington, on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the Apostolic Christian Church, 34 Middle Butcher Road in Ellington, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, with a short visitation from 9:30-10:00 a.m., with services starting at 10:15 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Longview Fellowship Center.
