Henry R. Abramczyk OBITUARY

Henry R. Abramczyk, 93, of Southington, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 5, 2024 at The Pines in Bristol. He was the loving husband of the late Dorothy ��Dottie” A. (Wisk) Abramczyk for 71 years. Born on January 19, 1931 in New Britain to the late Joseph and Mary (Wieczorek) Abramczyk, he had been a longtime Southington resident. Henry proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Earlier in life, he was the owner of a soda bottling plant. After that, he opened his own grocery store, Sunrise Market in Terryville, where he did catering, which he really enjoyed. Henry loved to cook for others and enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He loved watching Red Sox games, working out in his garden and traveling with his family. He will be remembered for his beautiful smile, his laughter and jokes, cooking delicious food and his big heart. Henry is survived by two children, son, David R. Abramczyk Sr. and lifelong partner Mary Jane Vita of Bristol and daughter, Linda Abramczyk Smith and husband Herman of Steamboat, CO, 3 grandchildren: Jody Manion and husband Robert of New Hartford, David Abramczyk Jr. and his wife Brittney of New Hartford and Kelsey Abramczyk and Joseph Grochowski of Southington and 7 great-grandchildren: Jordyn, James, Jacob, Luke, Landon, Aiden and Harlee. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Janet Abramczyk of Plainville and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife Dottie, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Julie Abramczyk and 8 siblings; Anna Sokolowski, Joseph Abramczyk, Lucian Abramczyk, Frank Abramczyk, Stanley Abramczyk, John Abramczyk, Theresa Maydey and Leon Abramczyk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 130 Summer St. Plantsville. Burial with military honors will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held before the service from 9 – 10:30 a.m. the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S.
