Eleanor “Ellie” Mary Glasser OBITUARY

Eleanor “Ellie” Mary (Jeski) Glasser, 78, of South Windsor, loving wife of over 58 years of Leonard B. Glasser, passed away peacefully, at home, on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, surrounded by her family. Ellie was born on April 14, 1946, in Hartford, one of five beloved children of the late Louis Joseph Jeski Sr. and Mary Katherine (Pardo) Jeski.

She was raised in Hartford and had attended Immaculate Conception School, Wapping Elementary and she later graduated from South Windsor High School, Class of 1964. Prior to raising her family, Ellie had been employed at The Travelers and later the former King’s Department Store in Manchester.

Ellie was a longtime parishioner of St. Margaret Mary’s Church in South Windsor. She enjoyed hula hooping, taking long walks, gardening, bowling, and searching out the best tag sales in the community. Ellie was an avid baker and was known as an awesome interior designer. She was a dedicated UConn Men’s Basketball fan. Her true love was spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her family was her everything. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her.

In addition to her husband, Lenny, whom she married on June 4, 1966, she leaves her four children, Ted J. McIntire and his wife, MaryKay of Framingham, MA, Mary Lou Glasser of Baldwin, WI, Tammy Lynn LaBonte of South Windsor, and Matthew John Glasser and his wife, Jessica of South Windsor. Her twelve greatly loved and cherished grandchildren, Melanie Jane Bentz and her husband, Brad, Shannon Nicole Hoyt, Randi Joan Hoyt, John Michael LaBonte, Kaitlyn Marie LaBonte, Michelle Rose LaBonte, Fitzgerald Leonard Glasser, Parker Harrison Glasser, Sara Ann McIntire, Christopher James McIntire, Kristen Marie McIntire and James Edward McIntire, great-grandchildren, Brady Raegan Bentz and Parker Ellie Jean Bentz, her step grandchild, Melissa June Hoyt, step-great-grandchildren, Kalista Marie Hoyt and Shyane Renee Suckow and her step great-great grandchildren, Emberlee June Elizabeth Curvello and Eleanor May Rogers. Ellie also leaves her two beloved siblings, Jean A. Letendre of Rutland, VT and Edward P. Jeski of Ellington and numerous nieces, nephews and their families. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, Mark A. LaBonte and her two siblings, Louis A. Jeski Jr. and Steven J. Jeski.

All are welcome to join her family for calling hours at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road in South Windsor on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, from 5-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret Mary Church, 80 Hayes Road in South Windsor on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at 11:00 am.
