A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a car in Hamden on Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to Brooksvale Avenue in the area of the Farmington Canal Linear Park in the morning hours on a report of a crash involving a pedestrian, according to Lt. Raymond Quinn of the Hamden Police Department.

Quinn said the pedestrian was alert and conscious after suffering serious injuries. The victim was treated at the scene by crews with the Hamden Fire Department before being taken in an ambulance to an area hospital.

According to Quinn, Brooksvale Avenue was closed early Tuesday from Whitney Avenue to Still Hill Road.
