A Connecticut man has been arrested after police learned of several alleged incidents of domestic violence in which the victim documented the claimed abuse in photos and videos.

On June 30, officers received a report about a possible violation of a protective order, according to the Milford Police Department.

During an investigation, officers learned about several unreported alleged domestic violence incidents over the past year. A total of 13 separate alleged incidents were documented, police said.

The victim handed over photographs and videos of her injuries from many of these alleged encounters, according to police.

Police identified the offender as 26-year-old Sean Kelly. He is accused of “choking, biting, grabbing, pushing, and hitting the victim resulting in injury. He is also accused of threatening the victim
as well as throwing items at her and damaging items during some of these altercations,” police said.

An arrest warrant was submitted and issued on July 5, according to police.

Kelly was taken into custody at Milford police headquarters on Monday. He was booked and charged with two counts of third-degree strangulation, second-degree threatening, 10 counts of third-degree assault, 11 counts of second-degree breach of peace and disorderly conduct.

Kelly was issued a $25,000 court-set bond. He was later released after posting bond and was set to appear in court in Milford on Tuesday, police said.
