Some flights were delayed at Bradley International Airport Monday morning because of a nationwide technical problem, an airport spokeswoman said. The problem since has been resolved.

Five Southwest soutbound flights and four inbound flights were delayed, Alisa Sisic said shortly before 8 a.m.

“At this time, their flight operations are returning to normal schedules,” she said.

JetBlue and United also were impacted, she said. Their flights, too, are returning back to normal, she said about 8:50 a.m.

A 7:15 a.m. tweet from a Southwest airline representative said they received word that the problem was resolved.

Several airlines were dealing with the problem, which the Federal Aviation Administration said were computer-related.

Dan Landson of Southwest Airlines said there was an outage with a vendor that services multiple carriers with data used in flight planning. At 7:05 a.m. Eastern time, Southwest lifted an internal ground stop that had been implemented for about 40 minutes, Southwest said.

The airline anticipates scattered delays and said that travelers should check its website for the latest updates on specific flights.

Delta said some of its flights were impacted as well.

There are delays at airports in Chicago, New York, Boston, Atlanta, Miami and Detroit as well as at Bradley.

An Associated Press report was used in this story.
