Fans of Virgin River know that emotions tend to run high on the Netflix drama. But star Alexandra Breckridge shared a poignant moment that occurred behind the scenes.

Alexandra, who stars as Mel on Virgin River, just started a new podcast called I Like You Very Much with her costar and friend, Zibby Allen, who portrays Brie. Over 25 episodes, they will talk to the other stars of the show, including Tim Matheson, Martin Henderson, Ben Hollingsworth, and more.

On the first episode, they are joined by legendary actress Annette O'Toole, who stars alongside Alex and Zibby as Hope McCrea. Alex recounts a recent time filming with Annette when she was running late for her flight back home, and Annette insisted Alex leave set so she could make it home to her two young children. Alex gets emotional talking about the act of kindness: "You told me to go to the airport when I was like, 'oh my gosh, I'm going to miss my flight.' And it was on your close-up coverage of the scene we'd been doing.

She continues, "I'm getting sweaty palms just thinking about it. I got so emotional when you were like, 'go. Just go.' Because I missed my kids so much, and you completely understood. I got so emotional at the time and I don't think I ever let it out or said anything, but I was so appreciative."

Annette, who has two daughters herself, explains, "I've been through that very thing....there's nothing more important than that. Nothing."

Virgin River fans are eager for the return of season 6. The show has finished filming, but Netflix has not yet released a date for new episodes. In the meantime, viewers can find more behind-the-scenes moments on Alex and Zibby's podcast. The subscription-based series starts at $25, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit Save the Children.
