A pedestrian was struck and killed by a driver Monday afternoon in Louisville, according to police.

In a post on X, Louisville police said the crash occurred at 5:45 p.m. near the intersection of Sagebrush and Via Appia ways.

Police did not reveal any information about the pedestrian. The identity will be released by the Boulder County Coroner’s Office once next of kin have been notified.

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

No information on the cause or nature of the crash has been released at this time, and no charges have been announced at this time.

“The Louisville Police Department expresses our heartfelt concern and sympathy for everyone affected by this tragic accident,” Louisville police wrote in a statement.

Via Appia Way was closed for about two hours while the crash was investigated.
