A small structure fire Thursday afternoon just east of Lafayette was quickly extinguished.

According to a Facebook post, Boulder County dispatch received a call at 4:20 p.m. about a possible fire of a barn or out building at a home near East County Line Road and Baseline Road.

Crews arrived at the scene to find a former chicken coop on fire. Mountain View Fire Rescue and Lafayette Fire crews worked together to control the fire, and it was completely extinguished by 5:15 p.m.

There were no injuries reported, but crews needed to bring in additional tenders to supply water because there was no fire hydrant near the location. Officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
