UPDATED:

The nonprofit group Community Cycles and the company Pedego Electric Bikes are offering a free workshop about e-bike maintenance and safety at 5 p.m. Saturday at Pedego Electric Bikes.

Topics include e-bike systems, regulations and battery safety and maintenance. The workshop is taught by e-bike mechanics.

Federal data suggests that e-bike sales more than quadrupled between 2019 and 2022. Last month, Boulder made headlines when a woman died in an e-bike accident near the creek path. The workshop offers “[r]iding practices specific to eBikes,” per their registration page.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own e-bikes, although it’s not required. Registration is at communitycycles.formstack.com/forms/ebike_intro.
