Six state champions at three different lines shone quite the spotlight on the girls tennis talent in and around Boulder and Broomfield counties this year. By the time everything was set and done, 11 ladies added their names to CHSAA’s all-state lists.

Fairview’s Jane Roth headlined as the Daily Camera player of the year thanks to her state crown at Class 5A No. 2 singles. Erie’s Nanoha Nakamura paved her own path toward Times-Call player of the year thanks to her runner-up effort at No. 1 singles in 4A.

Roth, naturally, earned the lone first-team nod in the all-state list for 5A, and Maya Brakhage (3 singles) joined her teammate on second team. Brakhage ended her year with state runner-up honors and a 16-2 record.

Nakamura graced first team in 4A, and Niwot’s Saha Kolli (1 singles) served as the lone local lady to make second team in the classification, thanks to a third-place finish at the individual state tournament.

The 3A girls showed out even more.

Peak to Peak’s Josie Adams and Molly Kolachov crowned themselves at No. 2 doubles, just as Holy Family’s Kenna Dietz and Raelynn Pickup did at 3 dubs. All four made first team in 3A, followed by Holy Family’s Annabelle Kenny (2 singles, second place), Avery Alderman and Lauren Stonehocker (1 dubs, second place) and Peak to Peak’s Ranye Ezenekwe (3 singles, second place) on second team.
