Friends Himanshu Jangid, Yogesh Kumar and Pranav Sharma’s mutual love for travel and adventure led them to start this Delhi-based company in the lockdown.
Where you can go: The vehicle can be picked up from Delhi, or be delivered to a location of choice for a fee. Travellers are free to choose their destinations and make their own itineraries across India.
Amenities: Their fleet of caravans features four different types of accommodation with options of sleeping three, five and six people.

  1. A modular kitchen with an LPG cylinder, kitchen utensils, a mini fridge, a barbecue grill and drinking water.
  2. Sofa-cum-beds, berths, roof top bunks and beds along with bed linens available as per vehicle size.
  3. A mobile washroom with a shower that can be fitted outside for taking a bath in the open.

What started as a personal project for a pandemic-ridden, travel-seeking industrial designer, Moksha Gandhi, turned into an Ahmedabad-based caravan rental company in 2021. Gandhi has not only designed every rental in the fleet, but also offers hyper-customised caravans upon request. Do keep in mind that all their vehicles are solar-powered.
Where you can go: The vehicle can be picked up from Ahmedabad or be delivered to a location of choice. The campervans can be taken anywhere in India, and the team is also happy to suggest locations for your itinerary.
Amenities: Their three models—the Roller, the Warbler and the Rosefinch—can seat six to eight and sleep four to five adults.

These tourist caravans are available for hire through accredited local tour operators across the entire state, accessible via the official Kerala Tourism website. Your furry friends are also welcome onboard.
Where you can go: Different tour operators offer different itineraries; pick one depending on what you want to explore, from Kerala’s tea plantations, serene backwaters and wildlife sanctuaries to its gorgeous beaches and hill stations.

Besides Delhi, the caravans are also available for hire in Bengaluru, Bhopal and parts of Madhya Pradesh. Their Club on Wheels is a party caravan with a bar, DJ cabinet, lounge area, a dance floor, smoke room and more, besides the basic features.
Where can you go: Motorhome Adventures lets you customise your trips and even change them at the last minute. Itineraries can be prepared for destinations such as Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Rajasthan and Ladakh, depending on point of departure.

Sanjna Hangal and Ramya Raji Dass's common love for road trips and the caravan life gave birth to Trippy Wheels. The ‘Samsara’ caravan, which is parked in Bengaluru, is not just cosy, but super fun to look at–it is spray painted by artists with all things funky and colourful.
Where can you go: Hampi, BR Hills, Hirekolale Lake, Dubare Forest Camp, Kundapura, Bhadra Sanctuary, Sakrebayalu, TalaKaveri, Dandeli and Yana. You can also take a journey outside of Karnataka to Goa or Andhra Pradesh.
Amenities: Trippy Wheels offers five caravans that can accommodate two, three or four people.

Here's a caravan adventure unlike the others. Camping Co's outlander trucks Xenon and Xenon Annex come with a rooftop tent that can be attached to the car wherever you decide to camp, under the stars or by a river. Meanwhile, the Mahindra Thar sport SUV is equipped with a foldable ground tent and Sunny, their vintage camper van, comes with a manual pop up hydraulic roof which doubles as a bunk bed.
Where can you go: The trailers are available for pickup in Guwahati, Assam. The advantage of this camper is that you can self-drive and travel anywhere around Northeast India and Bhutan, including 40+ campsites listed on their website.
Amenities: The van accommodates two to five people but does not come with a washroom, kitchenette and other in-built facilities like other trailers. The rooftop tent lets you camp literally anywhere you wish. You get one queen bed and one sofa bed. This Mumbai-based caravan company is a joint venture by Motohom and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). Along with their tourist and leisure options, they offer corporate packages as well, each of which brings with it curated add-ons such as open-air cinemas or revolving chairs for work meetings.

Where you can go: With the starting location choice of either Mumbai or Pune, you can drive anywhere across India, or park at one of the scenic destinations close by, such as Malshej Ghat, Lonavala or Grape Park in Nashik. Additionally, Motohom offers six packages with planned itineraries to the beaches of Alibaug and Fort Tikuna in Kamshet and more.
Amenities: These campervans come with a rooftop tent and can accommodate up to four people. They have a mini fridge, basic kitchenette and picnic chairs and a table. The luxury campervans can accommodate up to 10 people, depending on your choice. Features include:

  1. Fully-equipped kitchen, refrigerator, microwave.

Overlanders Campervan is Gujarat's first luxurious campervan and was founded by Shashin and Nisha Shah, a couple who loved road trips but struggled with finding hygienic washrooms and comfortable lodging. Thus, Overlanders Campervan was born with the purpose to provide travellers—including elders, families with kids and solo explorers—the best road trip experience.
Where you can go: The rental starts from Ahmedabad, but a plan can be designed if the client wishes to start elsewhere. The most-travelled locations so far are multiple spiritual destinations and rural gems in Gujarat, the tourist hotspots of Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
