No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. In 2015, Ataturk International Airport was the third-busiest airport in Europe with 60 million passengers passing through it. This is the latest in a round of distressing news from Turkey, which has been rocked by a series of acts of terror this year. In June, 11 people were killed in a car bomb attack in a popular tourist neighborhood in Istanbul, and car bombs were also behind the deaths of 37 people, and the wounding of many more, in the country's capital of Ankara in March.
