Located along a pristine stretch of beachfront in Stone Town, a designated UNESCO Heritage site, the Park Hyatt’s first property in Zanzibar impresses from the outset. It’s housed in two stately buildings: Mambo Msiige, an historic structure built in the 17th century, and the newly constructed Zamani Residence, which houses a restaurant, library, and communal lounge areas. Guest rooms are luxurious yet homey—like the rooms of a typical Zanzibari mansion—and feature plush, four-poster canopy beds and traditional, hand-carved Zanzibari furnishings. There’s an excellent Anantara Spa and a state-of-the-art fitness center onsite, but the highlight of the property is its 60-foot-long oceanfront infinity pool, which overlooks the entire expanse of Stone Town beach.
