NATO discusses plans for Europe without the U.S. or Putin

"The concern, is can we strengthen ourselves so that should the Russians win in Ukraine and that is something that might happen, Ukraine is fighting hard, but should that happen, we need to be ready to deter any future aggression coming out of Russia."

NATO is right to begin preparations for a possible withdrawal of US support from Europe, says Jim Townsend former Deputy Secretary of Defence for Europe and NATO, but adds they will also be preparing for a Europe without Putin.
