The hit show Riverdale is turning into a family affair! Kelly Ripa announced that she is joining her husband, Mark Consuelos, on the series after being cast as his character’s mistress.

Kelly, 48, revealed the exciting news on Nov. 6 to her Instagram followers by posting a photo of herself in a sexy little black dress. She can be seen sitting in a large leather armchair while holding a whip in her hands under dim lighting. “It’s a family affair… Hiram’s mistress,” the Live! With Kelly and Ryan host said in her caption. “Twenty-three years of auditioning for a role I was born to play. Coming soon to the @thecwriverdale.” See the pic below!

According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, Kelly is set to play Mrs. Mulwray. Her character is described as “confident and tough” while being a “beautiful, icy, femme fatale who gets caught up in a conspiracy that’s much bigger than she initially realized.”

Mark, 47, and Kelly aren’t the only members of the Consuelos-Ripa clan to be cast on the show. This past August, the couple’s oldest child, Michael Consuelos, was set to make an appearance in Season 3 as the younger version of his father’s character.

At the time of the announcement, Entertainment Weekly reported that Michael, 21, would appear on the show during a flashback alongside Riverdale stars KJ Apa and Lili Reinhart.

After the exciting news was released, proud parents Kelly and Mark took to Instagram to congratulate Michael on his first big TV role in six years, according to IMBD. “Congrats Michael on being cast as young Hiram Lodge on @thecwriverdale,” Kelly wrote. “However, @instasuelos and I would like to take this opportunity to remind you and your siblings, that as your fiduciaries, we are hereby entitled to 10% of all future earnings hereto wit, or something like that.”

“Bucket list moment for Mom and Dad,” Mark captioned the photo of him and Michael joyously smiling. “Congrats to my son Michael on being cast as the younger (and much better and handsomer) Hiram. We are so proud. Love you MJC #riverdale #bucketlist.”

It was only a matter of time before Kelly joined her crew, and with her confident poise on Live!, we expect nothing short of amazing from her.
