The engagement of Meg Ryan and John Mellencamp in November 2018 brought joy to their families, and it just keeps growing. “I’m thrilled. They are such an amazing couple,” John’s daughter Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave exclusively told Closer Weekly at the OK!/Star/In Touch/Life & Style Pre-Grammys Party on February 7. “They are both smart and funny. Their conversations are interesting and like watching a ping-pong match. They really bring out the best in each other — like all good couples do.”

Meg, 57, and John, 67, dated for three years before ending their romance in 2014. Insiders say Meg, who lives in NYC with her daughter Daisy, 15, grew tired of her long-distance romance with John, who was spending most of his time in his native Indiana. However, they reconciled in 2017 and have been living together in NYC ever since.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star isn’t the only one who’s gushing over their future nuptials. Prior to the “Jack and Diane” singer getting down on one knee, a friend of Meg’s exclusively revealed to Closer last May that the When Harry Met Sally actress’ daughter would be thrilled to see her tie the knot. “Daisy would love it if her mother married John — and she’s asked about a wedding,” the pal dished at the time. “Meg’s promised Daisy she’ll be involved every step of the way when the time comes, which is just music to the ears of a [teenage] girl!”

As if wedding planning isn’t keeping them busy enough, Meg and John were recently spotted house hunting in a small, snow-covered town in Connecticut. An insider close to the couple shared that since the two got engaged, they’ve been all about keeping their relationship on the down-low. “In Manhattan, they are constantly recognized, so they want an oasis, a haven out of the spotlight,” the source revealed to Closer in late January. “They’re both very private people and love nature, so it’s a mutual desire.”

Though house hunting and wedding planning can be exasperating for some, the lovebirds are enjoying every minute of it. “They’re both hippies at heart and at this age, they want no drama — they want it easy,” the insider noted while adding that they plan “to get married on the spur of the moment.”

And if one thing is for sure, it’s that Meg and John will be surrounded by their dearest and closest loved ones on their big day. “Meg is an amazing, brilliant woman,” Teddi previously gushed to Closer. “She’s funny, too — one of those people you like being around.” Aww!
