Northbound Orange Blossom Trail exit to close for July 18-22, July 25-29

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Transportation announced on Monday there will be two weekends this month when the eastbound Interstate 4 ramp to Orange Blossom Trail will be closed.

Officials said in a news release that the closures will involve the I-4 off-ramp to northbound Orange Blossom Trail (U.S. 17-92/U.S. 441) in Orlando to allow for concrete pavement work to take place.

The closures will take place from 10 p.m. on July 18 until 5 a.m. on July 22 and then again from 10 p.m. on July 25 to 5 a.m. on July 29.

Traffic will be detoured around the work zone by electronic message boards and other signage, according to the release. FDOT released the following information about the detours and construction work that will be taking place:

  • Motorists traveling eastbound on I-4 wishing to travel north on Orange Blossom Trail will be directed to take Exit 79 to South John Young Parkway, turn right onto southbound South John Young Parkway, turn left onto eastbound 33rd Street, turn left onto northbound South Rio Grande Avenue, and turn right onto eastbound West Michigan Street before reaching Orange Blossom Trail.
  • Drivers who pass the John Young Parkway exit may also take Exit 81 at Kaley Avenue, where they can turn left to head west on Kaley Avenue before reaching Orange Blossom Trail.
  • Please follow posted signage, avoid distractions, and drive cautiously in construction zones. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time to reach their destinations.

Officials stated that the construction schedule and planned routes are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
