Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run crash on I-4 in Kissimmee, troopers say

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A pedestrian was struck and killed Monday afternoon on Interstate 4 in Kissimmee, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The fatal crash occurred around 1:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-4, near mile marker 65, in the area of West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway, troopers said in a release.

The release shows that a man was outside a parked 2022 blue Toyota Corolla on I-4 that had its hood raised, which is when he possibly entered into traffic and the path of another vehicle.

Troopers said the vehicle struck the man and kept on going. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other information has been shared, such as the suspected vehicle. Investigators are on the scene gathering further details.

Due to a roadblock in the area, traffic is being diverted onto West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway.

Anyone with information regarding the crash is asked to contact FHP or Crimeline. The crash remains under investigation.
