High-speed motorcycle chase with Michigan State Police ends in Hamtramck arrest

Pursuit started on I-96 during another traffic stop

HAMTRAMCK, Mich. – A man riding a motorcycle has been arrested after leading the Michigan State Police on a high-speed pursuit.

The chase occurred on Monday (July 8) after a Metro South police sergeant had just made a stop on I-96 when the motorcycle passed by at a high rate of speed.

A second Trooper was requested who followed the motorcycle to West Grand Blvd., where the sergeant attempted a traffic stop.

The driver, who had a woman passenger on the back of his bike seen on video, continued as the second Trooper monitored the driver until he pulled over at Andrus Street and Joseph Campau Avenue in Hamtramck.

The driver let the woman off and continued his high-speed until the sergeant took him into custody.
