Burger battle heats up in Detroit

15 of the top chefs and restaurants in Metro Detroit compete for the trophy

Are you a burger lover? You can eat burgers from 15 of the top chefs and restaurants in Metro Detroit for $30 at the “Burger battle Deroit” this weekend. Scott Rutterbush the organizer of the Burger Battle and Mike Lleshaj, the owner of Comet Burgers, who’s also a contestant at the Burger Battle, appeared on “Live in the D” to talk about the competition.

Lleshaj will be competing with his restaurant “Comet Burgers” that’s been around since 1995. Two years ago, Lleshaj and his dad purchased the business. Theirs’re currently working on opening a new location in Saint Claire Shores.

They’ll be burger samples all day and ticket holders vote for their top three burgers which narrows down the selection for the judges.

The winner of the event gets to take home a trophy that they can leave in their restaurant for special bragging rights.

If you’re trying to beat the traffic you can get to the completion two hours early if you get a VIP pass for $50. The burger battle will be this Sunday at 1 p.m., but 11 a.m. for VIP entry at the Eastern Market.
